The interesting thing about the eyes, is that they’re usually just as strong – even when they’re not showing.

We always try to find the eyes – when we speak to someone, we seek eye contact and we observe to see what this person is really saying or means. The expression is at its strongest when we show it with our eyes.

When we did the shoot with Julia we wanted to experiment with just that – the eyes. WE wanted to accomplish an intensive, nonchalant but at the same time playful look with a “Marylin touch”. Combining soft and sharp.

That’s why we thought it was so incredibly beautiful to actually hide the eyes in this context, especially when you have the pleasure to work with such a strong character like Julia.
