It’s the simplicity of the braid that gives it so many possibilities. We learn how to braid early on and it's so simple and it's something you can develop and work with so much. Pre-done braids are great for creative and quick looks. On Nicole we worked with one clean braid, not super tight.

The reason for that is that we want the braid to be movable and shapable so that we can extend it or hide it and it grants us more shape when it is not as tight!

From Nicole's clean base we start to add the pre-done braids in different shapes. The key to make this a look that is wearable is to secure the braids.

This can be done with different techniques, most efficiently is to use small open pins and placing them on the inside of the braid, diagonally in the direction of the hair. Then proceed by placing one more open pin perpendicular to the first pin.

If you use closed pins without showing them is a better way to create security of the shape and stability.

As an option, you can use a needle and a thread. This way you can hide it completely and you get the appearance that the braid is just laying on the head.
